What to include in your 1-minute video pitch

The 1-minute video pitch is not a business plan, its not a pitch deck, its not an executive summary and it’s not even an elevator pitch. So what is it really?

What to talk about in your 1-minute video pitch

Think back to the last time that you went to the movie theaters early. Remember those movie trailers that play in the beginning while people get their seats? You see the premise of the movie plot, the key actors, even some of the highlighted scenes. And then, a minute or so later, the trailer ends. That’s a good way to think about your video-pitch.

Movie Plot:

This is your problem-solution set-up. Try to keep it as short as possible. Remember you’ll have the luxury of using animated visuals and a voiceover so you can truly leverage those two media sources to refine the content to the bare minimum

Key Actors:

These are the various users within your ecosystem (if it helps, find the “villains” and the “heros” of your platform/solution/product)

Highlighted Scenes:

You have a lot more flexibility here. You can choose to focus on 1-2 of your most obvious benefits or perhaps your unique pricing within the industry or the 100% guarantee that your company offers. These are the must-haves of your business. The scenes that will have the most impact at exciting the audience/viewer so that they say “I want to know the rest of this pitch”
